Need advice on mid and small cap fundNo. of comments:4 AMIT GULATI, DELHI, 82317 On 02-Jan-2017

Hi Can someone please guide on whether, keeping in view high valuations, one should start a SIP in small/mid cap funds even with a long term horizon? Or is it better to wait for correction in these funds? Thanks Amit

Dear Amit, You may go ahead with small/Mid cap funds(with more mid cap portfolio) if you have 5+ years of investment horizon. Ideal investment strategy would be to invest through SIP in good diversified fund for next 2 years and then switch it to good Mid cap and Small cap(less with small cap and more with Mid cap exposure) fund. Happy investing. Regards, Kumar

Hi Amit, I would highly recommend to go ahead with Mirae Asset Emerging Fund. Alpha, beta ratio are good and fund has outperformed the benchmark Regards Vipul Shah

Dear Amit, You can start an SIP into Midcap or Small Cap fund. But the fund selection is the key, select any fund which has got good track record and a fund manager who has seen atleast 1 business cycle. HDFC Midcap Opportunities, Reliance Small Cap & SBI Magnum Midcap are soem of the funds you can look for
