Best way to control costing is through TER , If we study data of investor i.e. how many folio generated through direct plan against distributor efforts at ground level it seems Direct plan does not have any significant impact . This is india where traditions and rituals are still believed and followed by common person , its applicable to financial decision also. India is a saving oriented country where small distributor/agent has always played crucial role. It seems healthier to strengthen this channel having effective TER. Direct plan , online selling of Mf will not serve ultimate purpose of financial inclusion of small investor across the segment as it has its own limitations.

Need suggestion to improvise business model in mutual fund distribution. Charging fees to the client is good subject for academic debate but not commercially viable as of now in smaller city. SEBI should clarify TER subject asap. It will help us to take action faster.
