I second Pawanjis strategy. In fact putting money into ICICI Pru Equity Income Fund and switching it into Equity does not attract exit load. I Think this strategy will be beneficial for investors

I personally second Vineets view. Keeping things simple, we are following specific asset allocation strategy for each client, sticking to consistent funds and weeding out not so consistent/under performers. Current tax rules in debt funds has made converting equity to cash and then holding it for correction or doing STP less attractive. Switch to balanced funds and then doing STP is another alternative. Not only from tax perspective, but also to gain from both future scenarios-whether the market goes up, or it goes down.
