It is a welcome step from the fund house. This has only enhanced the reputation of Mirae being completely investor centric. It is also a lesson to other AMCs who have in past changed names or fund management themes of schemes with rapid growth in AUM and have given dismal returns later.
A large number of their peers (the bigger brands) have in the past been in such a situation. However in most such cases, greed overcame and they ended reducing brokerages instead of restricting flows and ended up losing the trust of distributors, besides performance. Hats off to Miraes ethical team.
