Wealth Forum Advisor Awards - 2010 : Eastern Region

imgbd

Building on the successful launch of the Wealth Forum Advisor Awards in 2009, we have considerably scaled up the awards in 2010 to make it more inclusive - without changing the essence and spirit of the awards.

The Wealth Forum Advisor Awards are an industry first recognition of distributors and advisors who have done a commendable job in promoting the savings and investment habit among Indians using mutual fund products. The awards are purely objective, numbers based. No subjective element, no interviews, no biases. If you've done well during the year, you are recognised for your efforts.

Performance is recognised at a pan-industry level (data from CAMS and Karvy) - this is not about sales performance for any one AMC or one NFO - its about efforts during the financial year Apr 09 - Mar 10, across all MF products, across AMCs.

This year, we have introduced more performance criteria and expanded the scope to make it much more inclusive. East Zone has been divided into two regions :

      Kolkata region

      East (ex-Kolkata) region

Three broad types of awards in each region :

      - Growth Champion of the Year - an advisor who has grown the fastest during the year in a particular category

      - Fund Champion of the Year - an advisor who is the largest at the end of the year in a particular category

      - IFA Of The Year - is a true all rounder - one who has displayed commendable growth across all performance categories covered in the Growth         Champion of the Year awards

Performance categories for Growth Champion of the Year :

Highest Net Sales - Equity Funds

Highest Net Sales - Hybrid Funds

Highest Net Sales - Income Funds

      Highest New SIPs registered

      Highest increase in investor folios

      Highest growth in AuM (Equity+Hybrids)

Performance categories for Fund Champion of the Year :

      Highest live SIPs (Mar 10)

Highest live investor folios (Mar 10)

      Highest AuM (Equity +Hybrids) - Mar 10

IFA of the Year Award

Based on a weighted average of all the categories listed earlier.

The IFA of the Year is a true all rounder - one who has displayed commendable growth across all performance categories covered in the Growth       Champion of the Year awards

The performance criteria recognise different business models - by recognising size and growth - not just in AuM terms - but also in terms of retail penetration (folios, SIPs).

Important caveats :

Filtering out corporate investors :

It is always a challenge to weed out corporate investors with their own ARN code and recognise only genuine advisors. To put in an objective criterion       to filter out corporate investors, we have introduced a common filter : only ARN holders with at least 1000 live folios across CAMS and Karvy (all       products) will be eligible for this recognition

All awards are recognised at an ARN level and not group level

It is impossible for us to identify groups across the country, accurately

The regulator is also anyway urging advisors to avoid multiple ARNs
